Friday, November 6th
1. There will be a Fall Dance on Friday, November 13th, from 7:00 – 10:00 p.m. for 6th through 8th grade students at the Itasca County Family YMCA. The cost is $5.00. If you have questions or concerns, please contact Melissa Applebee at 327-8818 or Melissa@ymcaitasca.org.
2. There will be a senior class meeting Wednesday, November 11th, during advisory in the commons. You will be voting on your senior shirt and getting ready for the Senior DVD Show.
3. There will be ACT Prep/Scholarship Time for ETS on Tuesday, Nov 10th, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. in Room 212. Come after practice.
4. Driver’s Education signs ups is now at the HS Service counter. Those who pay their $60.00 fee are allowed to sign up. Kathy will be out of the office through today, but will return tomorrow to answer any questions. The class will begin November 10th – 23rd from 4:30 - 7:30 p.m. in Mr. Dahlberg’s room. KATHY NEEDS A COPY OF YOUR BIRTH CERTIFICATE for you to be able to take the class. An informational flyer is available in the Community Education office or in the brochure case outside of the Community Education door. Deadline to sign up is tomorrow.
5. Anyone interested in the Big Buck contest see Mr. Newton or Mr. Dahlberg!
6. There will be an 8th grade ETS meeting next Tuesday during advisory in Lab 212.
7. Open library is Tuesdays and Thursdays, 3:30-4:30. This is a great opportunity for doing homework, checking grades, reading, or exploring things of interest to you.
8. Itasca Community College will host our second “Anishinabe Day” Career Fair on Wednesday, November 18, 2009, 10am-2pm, Davies Hall Theater and lobby. We will feature FAFSA training, career exploration, and lunch. This year ICC is inviting nearby colleges and universities to set up recruitment tables. Sign up with Gerald White in Indian Education.
9. Senior pictures for the yearbook are due today.

Athletic/Activities Information:
1. Boys Basketball t-shirts are for sale. Royal blue short sleeved t-shirt for $10. See any boy’s basketball player or Mr. Anderson to order one.
2. Anyone interested in playing boys basketball see Mr. Anderson.
3. Boys’ Basketball Captains practice will be held next week Tuesday-Thursday (Nov. 10-12) from 3:30-6:00 in the East gym and the following week Mon. - Thurs. (Nov. 16-19) from 3:30-5:30 at King School. See Reese Ayers, Thomas Schultz, Chris Terhaar, Jon White or Cody Kuck if you have questions.
4. Boys basketball players need to remember to fill out their paperwork, pay their fees, and get a physical if needed before practice starts on Monday, Nov. 23rd.
5. The Parent/Athlete Winter Meeting is on Tuesday, November 10th. Registration starts at 5 p.m. and the meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. This meeting is for parents and athletes in Wrestling, Nordic Ski, Boys’ and Girls’ Basketball, and Boys’ Basketball Cheerleading. By attending this meeting, the activity fee maximum for the year for your family will be reduced by $25.
6. There will be play practice after school today in the west gym.
7. Skiing Practice starts Tuesday, November 10th, you must have paper work and fees turned in before you can practice! You may sign up at the office counter or on Mr. Drotts door! Parent meeting will be Tuesday evening! Bring your running shoes and dress warm for practice.

2. Alworth Memorial Scholarship - $5000 per year for 4 years of college. Funds scholarships in science and mathematics. Must have 25+ ACT score to apply, financial need of family (income of $120,000); High School Seniors in northeastern MN only, requires teacher recommendation.
