Monday, March 16th
1. There will be a 10th-12th grade ETS meeting during advisory today in the Boys & Girls Club room.
2. Attention Close Up members: You have a meeting today during advisory. Report to Mr. Drotts’ room.
3. Guthrie Trip Students: The Guthrie Theater trip has been rescheduled for Saturday, March 21st. If you cannot go, you need to contact Mrs. Sheppard today to get your refund. Any students who were not signed up to go due to conflicts and would like to go, should see Mrs. Sheppard about any extra tickets that might be available.
4. Congratulations to Maija Erzar, Miranda Villeneuve, and Justice Humphrey for their acceptance to the State History Day Competition!
5. Thursday Nite Live is THIS THURSDAY! Make sure you get your teams signed up with Mrs. Lynn Evans by Wednesday or call Heather Schjenken.
6. FYI: Students on the “No Pass List” should not be in the halls unsupervised. This includes the Warrior Walk for Wellness.
7. During Senior High lunch hour, senior high students should not be in the hallways where junior high classes are being held.
8. Youth Conservation Corps will be hiring 15-18 year old students to work in the Chippewa National Forest. Students will work 8 – 40 hour weeks. The pay will be $6.15 per hour. Applications must be postmarked by April 3rd. See Mrs. Moll for more information or to get an application.
9. Sign up’s for Driver’s Education are being taken in the Community Education office (#207). Fee $60. An informational flyer is available in the Community Ed. office or on the High School Service Counter.

11. Indian Health Pathway offers a 6 week summer program at the University of MN, Duluth. This program is for students going into 10th-12th grade, and recent HS graduates. You will need an application, and two letters of recommendation. The application deadline is April 17, 2009. You can get more information from Mrs. Moll, or go to www.caimh.org
12. 10th and 11th grade students – PSEO – students planning to participate in Post Secondary Education Options programs for next year need to notify DRHS of their intentions to take PSEO next school year by March 30th. Please let Mrs. Moll know if you have questions regarding PSEO for next school year.
13. Enjoy dancing in a beautifully decorated scene to great music? How about laser tag, gladiator jousting, riding GIANT trikes, swimming, racquetball, volleyball, basketball, rock wall climbing, tennis, badminton or just hanging out watching movies and to top it all off dinner at the Ground Round? If all this sounds like fun, get ready for PROM 09 coming on MAY 2nd. Get your formal, your tux or your suit ready…Sign-ups will be coming in April!
14. To those who signed up for the Festival of Nations trip on May 1st, you need to turn in your money with your signed permission slip by Thursday to Ms. Cortes.

16. AFTER SCHOOL STUDENT BUILDING USE: Students in the High School after 3:30 p.m. have one of three options. Those options are: (1) A High School sponsored activity; (2) Boys & Girls Club; and, (3) tutoring. Students not participating in these activities are allowed only in the Commons. More information: (1) Students are required to sign up for tutoring by 6th hour every day. (2) TEENS: The only time that you can be at Boys & Girls Club is from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 3:15 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Friday’s. Students who are unable to follow these rules will lose their privileges and will be required to leave the High School premises after 3:30 p.m.
Athletic/Activity Information:
1. Baseball practice starts for pitchers and catchers today with the full squad starting tomorrow. Players must have their white slip in to Mr. Erzar in order to practice. Junior High will start Monday, March 23rd.
2. There will be a Girls Basketball meeting in Coach Marleau’s room tomorrow for all JV and Varsity Players. Please make every effort to attend as we will be voting on some things and also planning our end of the season party.
3. Golf practice begins today at 3:30 p.m. Meet in Coach Hermel’s Room. Be sure to pay your activity fee in the High School Office and bring the white slip to practice.
