Geometry studies shapes and formulas and how they are related to our world. We will continue to use the TI-83 calculator during our coursework. A classroom set is available to use for students, however it is extremely useful for students to have their own TI-83 or TI-84 for when the do work outside the classroom. Students should do their homework in pencil so they can correct errors. Students should have and are encouraged to keep an organized math notebook. I will occasionally give extra credit for a well kept notebook and will allow them to use notes for most assessments. It would be extremely helpful if each student had their own ruler, compass and protractor at home as we will be doing a fair amount of constructions throughout the year. I have a classroom set that they may use when they are in class but they remain in my room. We will have a homework assignment most days and time will be given to get a good start on their assignment and ask questions. Expect students to have math homework and encourage them to keep up on a daily basis.
